Projects
This page documents ongoing instructional design, teaching, and student success initiatives related to gateway mathematics education, accessibility, and instructional systems.
Exam Objective Tracking & Instructional Revision
An ongoing project focused on mapping assessment items to specific learning outcomes in order to identify conceptual barriers and guide iterative instructional redesign in gateway mathematics courses.
Current areas of focus include:
- probability instruction,
- conceptual understanding before formalization,
- and evidence-based revision of instructional materials.
Active Learning & Conceptual Exploration
Development of inquiry-driven mathematics activities designed to help students construct intuition and conceptual understanding before formal mathematical abstraction is introduced.
This work is informed by an “Experience First, Formalize Later” instructional approach emphasizing exploration, discussion, and collaborative problem-solving.
Co-Requisite Support & Peer-Assisted Learning
Ongoing exploration of how co-requisite support models, peer mentoring, and collaborative learning structures can improve persistence and student success in introductory mathematics courses.
